On the Road with The Wine Wrangler: Tasting Boutique Wines

Taste Boutique Wines with The Wine Wrangler

Wine lovers come from all over California and beyond to visit Paso Robles Wine Country and taste wine at the nearly 200 wineries located throughout the Paso Robles Wine Region and go wine tasting with The Wine Wrangler. It can be overwhelming to choose which wineries to visit, but with The Wine Wrangler, our tour guides are area experts and can help select the wineries that best fit your palate and interests, whether you’re going on one of our Adventure Tours or on a Private Wine Tasting Tour. One of the areas where we excel is in the small, boutique wines, the ones you may never see or taste anywhere else.

Tasting boutique wines, is a unique and special opportunity, one that often puts you face-to-face with the winemaker and gives you a unique learning opportunity to learn about the crafting of the wine, but to also taste the wine. Boutique wines are often small production wines, meaning that there are fewer bottles available, so these wines often never make it out of the area.

One of our favorite boutique wineries to stop for a wine tasting at is Rendarrio Vineyards—featured in the latest shipment of wines to our Paso Robles Wine Club members.

Rendarrio Vineyards is owned by winemaker Ryan Render, a graduate of Cal Poly University. In 1999, Render had a life changing experience when he visited Chateauneuf du Pape in the Rhone region of southeastern France and vowed that one day he would make Rhone-style wines using grapes from the Paso Robles Wine Region. Flash forward a few years to 2003 and Render’s dream was in the process of becoming a reality. Today, Rendarrio Vineyards produces several small production Rhone-style wines that pair perfectly with food.

If you’re interested in wine tasting at Rendarrio Vineyards, or any of the other many boutique wineries located in the Paso Robles Wine Region, join The Wine Wrangler for a private wine tasting and let us plan your itinerary. We also recommend signing up for wine shipments with The Paso Robles Wine Club. Membership is free and we’re always on the lookout for unique, boutique wines to share with our members.
