On the Road with the Wine Wrangler: Sculpterra Winery

Located on the eastside of Paso Robles, Sculpterra Winery and Sculpture Garden is sure a sight for sore eyes. This winery brings both wine and art together in a perfect gathering of hills and structures that is unbelievable to the eye.  If you love art and wine, this should certainly be a request on your next wine wrangler adventure tour.

Searching for a simpler life, Dr. Frankel and his family moved to Paso Robles in 1979. He and his wife Kathy, a horse enthusiast, both longed for a quieter life away from the City and Dr. Frankel’s medical practice in the San Fernando Valley.  They first planted pistachios along with Cabernet grapes. In the years following came another 6 varietals of grapes on 120 acres.

Here are 3 of our favorite reasons to visit Scupterra Winery:

Sculpture Garden: World resound sculptor John Jagger was commissioned by owner Dr. Warren Frankel for a five-year period, and his works can be viewed while strolling through the gardens.

Featured Artists: With a large pool of local artist talent, Sculpterra Winery searches for artists to display their art in and around their tasting room throughout the year. You may find that special something to add to your art collection!

Wines: Of course, the wines.  Sculpterra Winery has a bounty of wines for all tastes.  From Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Grenache, Primitivo to Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.  Anyone is bound to find a wine to please their palate. The Paso Robles Wine Club recently featured a Sculpterra 2012 Primitivo in their Club shipment that was enjoyed enthusiastically.
