Taste Rhone Style Wines with The Wine Wrangler |
Paso Robles Wine
County is buzzing with activity as both visitors and locals enjoy
themselves, wine tasting with The Wine Wrangler, preparing for the upcoming International Chardonnay Symposium, and
buying their tickets to the upcoming 34th
annual Paso Robles Wine Festival. From the looks of things, May is going to
be a busy month for wine lovers and in Paso
Robles Wine Country, the beautiful weather is just another reason to enjoy
wine tasting at the nearly 200 wineries
that call the Paso Robles Wine Region home.
This week, take a ride with The Wine Wrangler as we bring
guests to some of their favorite wineries—and ours, too. We often have our wine
tasting guests request a recommendation for a winery that offers delicious
wines and magnificent views and while we have many to share, one of our
favorite places to visit is Calcareous
Vineyards.
The dream of father and daughter, Lloyd Messer and Dana
Brown, Calcareous Vineyards stretches
over 342 acres and sits 1,800 feet above sea level on a foundation of solid
calcareous rock. These terroir driven wines are a labor of love. The Rhone
style wines are not only well-received by wine lovers the world over, but are
at the top of the list for favorite local wines and the spectacular views only
add to the sensual experience.
The wines of Calcareous
Vineyards include: Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Viognier, white Rhone
blends, and a variety of red Rhone and Bordeaux varietals. The winery features
a picnic area, is available for special events, and offers a special food and
wine pairing menu available for purchase (on the weekends) from Thomas Hill
Organics.
If you’re ready to taste wine at Calcareous Vineyards and other wineries in Paso Robles Wine Country then going on a wine tasting adventure
with The Wine Wrangler is the best opportunity to learn about the wines from
the Paso Robles Wine Region while learning about local history and enjoying the
scenic views. Let our drivers do the driving; you can enjoy the wine tasting.
