Great Wines to introduce yourself to

There are soo many wineries to visit in Paso Robles. In fact, there are over 200+ tasting rooms and another 100 wineries that don't have a tasting room.  If you are a seasoned traveler to Paso Robles or are wondering if you should continue your annual trips here, one fun way to increase your knowledge of the wines is to go searching for harder to find varitals. It's a great way to learn about different wines and who knows, maybe you'll discover your next favorite wine.

We love to include these harder to find but exceptional varietals in our Paso Robles Wine Club shipmments

How many of these wines can you find on your next trip?

Here are 7 fun wines to look for:

1) Picpoul Blanc – Bright, acidity, minerality and lemony flavors

2) Albarino – High acidity, light body, and citrusy flavor

3) Montepulchiano – Medium bodied, robust herbal, red cherries, and tobacco-like flavors with grippy tannin often calls for richer and more savory foods

4) Charbono - Black fruit and plum aroma and flavor notes that can develop into leather and tar notes as the wine ages.

5) Petite Sirah - Rich flavors and aromas of blueberry, chocolate, pepper and spice, and its high tannins and acidity make it great for pairing with curries, as well as rich meaty dishes
